PUNÇÃO FOLICULAR

Lembra do Post que falei das medicações que tomei para estimular a liberação de folículos? Que precisava ter pelo menos 10 para se obter o maior número de óvulos?

Depois de tomar todos os medicamentos para a estimulação ovariana, ou seja, para a liberação de mais óvulos e não somente um, como ocorre todos os meses em ciclo normal, chega a fase da Punção Folicular.

É um procedimento simples, feito na própria clínica, com anestesia local e sedação, indolor.

Visa extrair os óvulos do interior dos folículos. Imagine que os óvulos ficam dentro dos folículos que por sua vez ficam dentro dos ovários. O folículo é tipo uma “bolha de água” onde no meio desta água o óvulo fica boiando (ótima eu né, suuuper técnica hahahaha). Dentro de cada folículo tem apenas um óvulo e às vezes pode acontecer de o folículo não ter nenhum óvulo. Por exemplo podemos ter 10 folículos e apenas 5 óvulos, mas nunca podemos ter 10 folículos e 11 óvulos.

É utilizada uma agulha bastante fina que fica acoplada no ultrassom transvaginal. Esta agulha perfura a vagina, o ovário e por último o folículo. Todo este sistema fica interligado a uma bomba de aspiração negativa que é acionada por um pedal que retira o líquido do folículo trazendo junto o ovulo, desde de que ele existe dentro deste folículo.

Tudo é feito com a ajuda de ultrasson para evitar/diminuir o risco de alguma lesão em outros órgãos.

A punção deve ocorrer entre 34 e 36 horas depois da aplicação do hormônio de maturação (no meu caso foi a Ovidrel).

Todo o procedimento dura em média 30 minutos. Imediatamente depois da punção, os óvulos são contados e posteriormente classificados como maduros, imaturos ou de maturação intermediária. Ficam no laboratório, em placas de cultura prontos para serem fertilizados, ou congelados.

Hoje em dia tem se tornado muito comum o fato de mulheres preservarem sua fertilidade congelando seus óvulos para anos depois poder engravidar sem colocar em risco a maternidade.

Os óvulos congelados, podem ser preservados por tempo indeterminado e quando a mulher for utilizá-los, mesmo que ela já esteja com 50 anos por exemplo, e quando os congelou estava com 30 anos, seus óvulos estarão com a qualidade de quando foram criopreservados.

No meu caso, fiz o procedimento porque estava no processo da Fertilização In Vitro, então todos os meus óvulos seriam fertilizados para poder transferi-los no mesmo ciclo.
